Susan's Story
Life
I'm English, Irish, Cherokee, Shawnee and proud to carry Native American lineage. Oklahoma born a few decades ago, I've lived a lot of places, enjoyed many cultures and understand much about East, West, North, and South [and how to survive and thrive anywhere].
More than half my life has been as a wife and mother of natural offspring and many extras who've crossed my path over the years. There is little I haven't seen or done [personally or vicariously]. Life is a mega-adventure for me!
Incredible events, experiences, challenges are on-going and are delightful, Light-hearted, and fun. I'm living my dharma and am wholly enjoying life's process. Mine is a multifaceted existence filled with music, art, poetry, authorship, Earth's stewardship and much, much more. For the rest of my life, I'm committed to the ministry ~ Angels In the Wings ~ where we 'help make dreams come true for bigger kids, too.'
After years away, I've returned to live in northwest Oklahoma where I currently am Ombudsman for long term ca...Expand for more
re residents. I serve the High Plains Oklahoma Panhandle and an 8-county area.
I am grandmother to twelve and a young great-grandmother to three. I'm Mamasu and Grammasu to "kids" of all ages, all over the nation.
Workplace
My present role as Ombudsman lets me use most of my talents, skills, and abilities in productive ways so that others receive maximal benefits [as also do I]. It's very gratifying to resolve problems, thus make others happy. Very few get to do work they love so much it's like play to complete it. Yes, it's demanding ~ also deeply satisfying.
I work for the Area Agency on Aging and take direction from the State Long Term Care Ombudsman, which makes for interesting [and challenging] work-related dynamics. I work FOR residents in long term care facilities per the mandate of the Older Americans' Act [Federal]. It's fun! I love the problem solving facets that let me be creative! I love this job, love my life, and I maximize every adventure-filled moment.
